FreeDOS 1.3

Operating system · x86 / FreeDOS · v86

A real DOS, booted from its own floppy — the environment that ran the PC for two decades.

Loads and runs entirely in your browser. Click to start — your keyboard drives the machine.

Tip: click inside the screen to capture mouse & keyboard; press Esc to release. For v86 systems (FreeDOS, KolibriOS, Tiny Core), the first boot downloads the disk image, so give it a moment.

About

FreeDOS is a free, open-source MS-DOS-compatible operating system. This boots the genuine FreeDOS 1.3 boot floppy under v86 (not DOSBox's built-in DOS), landing at a real FreeDOS A:\> command line with the classic toolset: EDIT, FDISK, DIR, HELP. It is the legally-clean stand-in for the MS-DOS that shipped on the IBM PC and every compatible after it.
